Our commitment
Mildura Martial Arts is committed to a safe, fair and welcoming club for everyone who trains with us, and in particular for the children and young people in our classes. Everyone at the club, from coaches and helpers to members and parents, is expected to treat each other with respect.
Child safety
- The safety and wellbeing of children comes first in everything we do.
- We follow the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
- Coaches and helpers who work with children hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Children train in classes run by coaches, with parents and guardians welcome to watch.
- We listen to children and take what they tell us seriously.
How we expect people to behave
- Respect for coaches, training partners, parents and visitors, on and off the mats.
- No bullying, harassment, discrimination or abuse of any kind, in person or online.
- Train safely and with control, and look after your training partners.
- Follow the coach’s instructions during class.
Raising a concern
If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, or about anyone’s behaviour at the club, please tell us. Speak to head coach Mick Moloney, call 0438 508 443 or email info@milduramartialarts.com.au. Every concern is taken seriously and handled confidentially.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 000. You can also contact Victoria Police or the Victorian Child Protection Crisis Line on 13 12 78.
Photos and video
We sometimes share photos and video of classes and events. We do not identify children by name online, and anyone who would rather not appear can tell a coach or email us.
